1. What is unsaturated resin?

    Unsaturated resin generally refers to unsaturated polyester resin UPR (Unsaturated polyester resin), which is a very widely used thermosetting resin, accounting for 75% of the resins used daily.

    Unsaturated polyester resin is a polymer compound containing unsaturated double bonds generated by the polycondensation reaction of dibasic acid and dihydric alcohol.

2. Classification of unsaturated polyester resin

     1. Classified by chemical structure, o-phenylene unsaturated polyester resin, with brands such as 191, 196, isophthalic unsaturated polyester resin, with brands such as 199, xylene unsaturated polyester resin, such as 2608, 902A3, Xm-1, Xm-2, bisphenol A type unsaturated polyester resin, brands such as 197, 3301, 323, halogenated unsaturated polyester resin, vinyl ester resin;

    (1) Heat resistance. The heat distortion temperature of most unsaturated polyester resins is between 50 and 60°C, and some resins with good heat resistance can reach 120°C.

    (2) Mechanical properties. Unsaturated polyester resin has high tensile, bending, compression and other strengths.

    (3) Chemical corrosion resistance. Unsaturated polyester resin has good resistance to water, dilute acid and dilute alkali, but poor resistance to organic solvents. At the same time, the chemical corrosion resistance of the resin varies with its chemical structure and geometric switch.

    (4) Dielectric properties. Unsaturated polyacid resin has good dielectric properties.

    (5) Unsaturated polyester resin changes from a soluble and meltable state to an insoluble and infusible state.

    (6) It is still soluble in suitable solvents and has good fluidity when heated.
